so long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, adieu

It is with sadness that I am saying goodbye to one of Lincoln's naps. I've been wondering for a couple of weeks now if he was ready to make the transition to just one. But I don't think there will be a transition. I think his morning nap is just gone. The last few days his morning naps have been mediocre and then he wouldn't go down for his afternoon nap until like 5 and then sleep until 7:30. Bedtime is at 8, so that was just not working. So, today I thought I'd see how he would do without a morning nap at all. He actually did really well. He crashed around noon and slept until about 3 and then went to bed at 8 without hardly fussing, which is unusual as of late. He has always been such a good sleeper, but lately he has had to be rocked to sleep for naps and bedtime, but not today. So, I guess this is a good thing. Hopefully I will continue to have a 2-3 hour stretch in the afternoon to get things done and our mornings will be left free to play and run errands. I'm hoping, too, that maybe he will sleep a little later in the morning and give me a chance to exercise before he gets up. If not, I'm going to have to start dragging my lazy butt out of bed at 6:30. Not too happy about that.

  2. what a good boy!and i'm so proud of you for even THINKING of exercising. it seems that with the joys of being a mother some important things get neglected... like exercise! you have inspired me and i am going to try to put these important things back into my life as well! great job!

  3. Sorry about that, I was so sad to give up the morning nap. Now I am happy to get a nap at all. 3 hours sounds divine.

  4. Don't you hate when they stop napping? Liam decided he needed no naps at 18 months, I was so sad!! I haven't been on for a while and Lincoln is getting SO BIG!! What a handsome boy he is.
