healthy schmealthy update

It's been 10 days since I talked with my health coach and set my goals. I'm proud to report that I'm doing pretty dang good. I've been really good about getting my 20 minutes of exercise in almost every day. I've been trying to alternate the elliptical machine, a workout DVD, and the Wii Fit (which really does give me a work out!)to keep things mixed up enough for me to not get bored. I try to get up and exercise before Lincoln gets up, but he is really good to watch me from his pack & play if he is up. He'll even sit and laugh at me sometimes!

This is really the first time that I have made exercising a priority. The last copule of mornings I have really not wanted to exercise, but I'm glad I can talk myself into it. I think I've already lost a couple of pounds, so I'm off to a good start!

The whole eating 5 servings of fruits and vegetables a day is hard! I can usually get 3 or 4 in pretty easily but I always struggle with getting that fifth one. A couple friends recommend V8 Fusion, so I bought some of that which has been a huge lifesaver! I can drink just one glass and get 2 of my 5 servings, so that helps a lot. I've also been pretty good at keeping stocked up on good snacks and no junk. For my junk food cravings, I bought the 100 calorie packs of Fudge Stripe and Grasshopper cookies and they are just what I need.

I'm really glad Dan's work is doing this, because I think it's just the motivation I need to make these changes. I just hope I can keep going strong!

  1. sounds like you're doing great, keep it up. my problem with those 100 calorie snacks is then i eat like 3 packages at a time then they're not so good.

  2. I have a green drink that I LOVE! I got the recipe from my "personal trainer" Try it out -

    1 cup Rice Milk
    Large handful of spinach
6 or 7 slices of cucumber
    1 banana
    6 or 7 frozen strawberries

Blend it all up. My six yr. old loves it. My hubby says its ok. And my three yr old won't touch it.

I love it! I really like the taste. Let me know what you think
