i'm coming back

I feel like I've got things under control a little bit so I'm returning to my blog. I decided not to try to play catch up from the last few weeks but just move forward. Not too much has happened, anyway, besides our little trip to Washington, which was fun. Traveling with a baby is hard, but overall, Lincoln did very well. There was some screaming on both plane rides, but I expected that. It was so fun to see my brother and sister-in-law and their kids and to spend some time with them.

Life is going on as usual for us. Lincoln is getting cuter and cuter all the time. He turns one on Thursday, which I can't hardly believe. I'm trying to not be sad about the reality that he is not really a baby anymore. He is so much fun and it's fun to watch his personality come out more and more. He's quite a rambunctious little boy with lots of energy to make messes and get into things. He keeps me on my toes!

Here are just a few pictures to show how much he enjoys getting into things!

Today, I was sitting on the couch doing some stuff on my computer and Lincoln was playing in the corner with his toys. The next thing I knew, I could hear him behind me, behind the couch. I looked, and this is what I saw. It was pretty funny.

Toilet paper sure is fun to shred!

The bottom drawer in my kitchen is just miscellaneous plastic items for Lincoln to play with, which used to be enough for him. He has now discovered that he can open the next drawer up. I love the look on his face. It says, "Uh-oh, she caught me!"

He loves to get in this cabinet, but I usually keep it blocked with a chair since the pots and pans in there are pretty heavy. I was cleaning out the drawer above it the other day and he was so excited that he could finally get in the cabinet, regardless of the drawer in the way!

  3. Wow! It's weird to see him standing and doing all the 'big boy' stuff! You're doing a great job! Happy birthday Lincoln!
